Swimming - DSZ WAVE

Swimming is an intense and challenging sport that can be practised at any level. There are many different swimming techniques such as front crawl, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. Competitions generally take place in a 25-metre (short course) or 50-metre (long course) pool, and 5 to 8 swimmers compete in each race. The lanes are separated by lines. The usual competition distances are 50, 100 and 200 metres, and there are races in all four of the strokes. For freestyle races, participants can decide themselves which stroke they want to swim.

Association training – all levels

The swimming, water polo and triathlon association DSZ WAVE offers swimming training in collaboration with X. Each training consist of a warming-up, some core parts and a cooling down. As a beginner you especially work on your technique, but you also improve your condition, start and turning points. The more experienced you are, the more attention you pay to your condition and timing. Training sessions take place in het Kerkpolderbad and the Sportfondsenbad in Delft.
