Open Studio: Woodworking

Wood is an extremely versatile medium. In these courses, you will become more confident in using hand tools for carving, choosing which wood to use, transferring your design onto the wood, and controlling the tools you use; moving between skills, art and design-based work.

Open Studio

The Open Studio: Woodworking is open to anyone with an X subscription who has completed a Woodworking or Furniture Design course, or anyone with experience with woodworking, at any time when an assistant is present. All you need to do is register beforehand. The assistant is there to help when needed, to give tips and advice and to ensure that all materials and equipment are used responsibly and safely.

During the Open Studio: Woodworking you are welcome to use hand tools and small machines. Materials are also available for purchase. Or you can bring your own materials

The Open Studio is coordinated by assistants. Our assistants are volunteers. The Open Studio is only available when there are sufficient assistants. Therefore sometimes some of the studio’s will not be available during a weekend. Please have a look at the availability of other studio’s or sign up for our MAKE studio in which you can do DIY projects.
