Open Studio: Fashion Design
At Fashion Design you will learn all essentials about creating fashion, from the basic skills needed to design and make, to the more advanced techniques. In the intermediate course you will learn how to realize your own design, from an idea to a unique product.
Open Studio
The Open Studio: Fashion Design is open to anyone with an X membership who has completed a Fashion Design course, or who can demonstrate that they know how to use a sewing machine, at any time when an assistant is present. All you need to do is register beforehand. The assistant is there to help when needed, to give tips and advice and to ensure that all materials and equipment are used responsibly and safely.
During the Open Studio: Fashion Design you are welcome to use the sewing machines, overlock machines, thread, fixings, pattern magazines, embroidery machine and other tools. Various fabrics are also available for purchase. Or you can use your own fabrics.
The Open Studio is coordinated by assistants. Our assistants are volunteers. The Open Studio is only available when there are sufficient assistants. Therefore sometimes some of the studio’s will not be available during a weekend. Please have a look at the availability of other studio’s or sign up for our MAKE studio in which you can do DIY projects.

Opening hours
Friday: from 18:00 to 23:00
Saturday: from 11:00 to 14:00
Every first Saturday of the month: special edition – ‘Open Studio Walk-in’.
Please note: advance registration is required. Not every discipline is offered every week. Keep an eye on the webshop to stay up to date.
