Summer Course Ceramics: a group sculpture

Join us in creating an amazing group sculpture this summer!During this unique 2-day summer course, you’ll work alongside other creators on one large ceramic artwork – inspired by the NoxArt Festival! Under the guidance of ceramicist Wilem Cousins, you’ll learn all about coil-building, sculpting and collaborating to achieve an epic result.

• 13 & 14 July | 10:00 – 13:00 or;
• 15 & 16 July | 10:00 – 13:00

Where
Pottery Studio

What you’ll be doing

• Working together to build a huge central sculpture
• Creating your own mini-artworks based on a shared theme (monsters? futuristic creatures? you choose!)
• Learn to roll, build & finish like a pro
• Prepare large ceramic pieces for the kiln

Whilst studying at the Willem de Kooning Academy, Wilem learnt that ‘design’ is a field in which he can combine his interests and passions. His aim is to create objects that possess both beauty and meaning, through an autonomous, circular process. Clay is the material that has truly captivated him, but he is also passionate about materials research and enjoys exploring the limits of what different materials have to offer.
