Strings Ensemble (violin, viola, cello)

Chamber music is a form of classical music that is composed for a small group of instruments—traditionally a group that could fit in a palace chamber or a large room. Most broadly, it includes any art music that is performed by a small number of performers, with one performer to a part (in contrast to orchestral music, in which each string part is played by a number of performers). However, by convention, it usually does not include solo instrument performances.

Group course – Intermediate

Making music and exploring different repertoire with others is just a great thing to do! Have you been playing violin/ viola/cello or piano and would you like to enjoy playing chamber music with other musicians, explore all the great aspects of playing in a group and work on a beautiful sound and interpretation of a piece together with others, then this course is perfect for you!

You’ll get all the guidance you need from the teacher during the course. The teacher will choose the repertoire, depending on the level of the participants and students are also welcome to give their preferences after the first class! 

This course is designed for students of an intermediate or higher level, since this experience will enable you to play some more challenging repertoire and give you space to focus on playing together with the ensemble. The main focus during the course will be the joy and freedom in playing diverse repertoire together with others and the aim of creating a group identity and nice blending of the sound.

Marina Meerson

Marina has been playing the violin since the age of six and combines performing with teaching. She studied Classical Violin at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and completed her Master's degree at Codarts Rotterdam. For more than ten years, she has been teaching violin at X, guiding students of all levels. Her lessons are tailored to each individual, with a focus on solid technique, relaxed playing and, above all, the joy of making music.
