Wednesday 26 August | 18.30-21.30 | Discover the joy of baking your own sourdough bread from scratch. A beautiful loaf with a crispy crust and delicious flavour may look intimidating, but with the right techniques, patience and a little practice, anyone can learn how to make it at home.
During this hands-on workshop, guided by Cheyenne, a passionate home-baker and fermentation workshop host, you’ll learn the basics of sourdough baking in a relaxed and creative environment. With experience in hosting fermentation workshops, Cheyenne loves helping people discover new skills and enjoy the process of creating something from scratch.
Together, you’ll explore how simple ingredients like flour, water and salt can transform into a beautiful loaf. You’ll learn how to work with dough, understand the different steps of the baking process and gain the confidence to continue baking at home.
During the workshop, you will learn:
* How a sourdough starter works and how to maintain it
* The basics of preparing and working with sourdough dough
* How timing and fermentation influence your bread
* How to shape your own loaf using the right techniques
* How to add flavours and make your bread unique
No previous baking experience is needed, this workshop is open to anyone who wants to learn a new skill, get creative with their hands and experience the satisfaction of making something from scratch.
