Ice skating - ELS

Ice skating is a typical Dutch winter sport. There are various disciplines within ice skating, one of which is long track speed skating. Long track speed skating combines speed, balance and technique, making it a challenging sport at all levels!

Association training - All levels

Ice skating association, ELS organizes the long track speed skating training sessions in collaboration with X. The only way to participate in these long track speed skating training sessions, is as a member of this association. The training sessions is available for all levels, from beginners to advanced skaters.

Before the training start, you meet up at the police station opposite the Jacoba van Beijerlaan in Delft and then cycle together (on your normal bike) to the ice rink in The Hague. By the time you get there, your muscles will have warmed up and you’ll be ready to put on your skates.

 

The training sessions usually start with a few balance exercises, followed by various other exercises which focus on different aspects of skating technique. Specific training is also given to help skaters prepare for competitions and championships.

To participate in an association activity, you must have both a valid X membership and a membership of the relevant association.
