Hockey - DSHC
For centuries Europeans and Indians have been playing a game using a ball and a stick, from which modern field hockey originated. Field hockey, or simply ‘hockey’, is one of the most popular team sports in the Netherlands. Dutch hockey has been played at an international level for many years. And not without success: between them, the Dutch women’s and men’s teams have already won Olympic titles, and world and European titles.
Association training - All levels
Hockey association D.S.H.C. organises hockey training sessions in collaboration with X. The only way to participate in these hockey training sessions is as a member of D.S.H.C. or one of the other hockey associations.
Teams are selected at the start of each academic year based on player ability and each team has its own coach. The matches take place at the weekend. The club has its own training methods but generally the sessions are structured in the same way.
They all start with a warming-up, which usually involves a run and a quick practice hitting the ball around to each other. Then you complete various exercises to practice different techniques and tactics.
This page provides an overview of the activities offered by the association. You do not need to register for association activities through the webshop; the schedule simply shows when these activities take place. To participate in an association activity, you must have both a valid X membership and a membership of the relevant association.Good to know...
