DJing is much more than simply playing music. It is the art of selecting tracks, creating smooth transitions and building the right energy at the right moment. A DJ combines technical skills with musical creativity to craft a unique experience for an audience. Originating from radio broadcasting and later developing through disco, hip-hop and electronic dance music culture, DJing has become a central part of modern music. Today, DJs perform in clubs, festivals, radio shows and private events all over the world, connecting people through rhythm, creativity and a shared love of music.

Group course – Beginners

From house and techno to drum & bass, hip-hop and disco: a great DJ knows how to seamlessly blend music and take an audience on a musical journey. In this course, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of DJing and learn how to build a smooth and energetic set on your own.

What’s on the progamme?

During this hands-on group course, you will work step by step on the essential skills every DJ needs. You will learn how to select and prepare tracks, synchronize beats, create transitions and build energy throughout a set. Guided by an experienced instructor, you will practice techniques such as beatmatching, cue points, loops, EQ and phrasing.

In addition to the technical aspects of mixing, we will explore track selection, musical storytelling and developing your own style as a DJ. You will practice on professional DJ equipment and have plenty of opportunities to experiment independently and together with other participants.

After seven weeks, you will have the knowledge and confidence to perform your own short DJ set and a solid foundation to continue developing your DJ skills.

This course is suitable for beginners; no previous DJ experience is required. Whether you dream of playing at parties, in clubs, or simply want to experience your favourite music in a new way, this course is the perfect first step into the world of DJing.
