Ballroom

Want to get carried away with music and learn the technique of different dance styles? The Ballroom courses will train you in just that! Learn the standard dances from the European ballrooms of yesteryear, like the Quickstep and Slow Waltz, as well as Latin American dances like the Cha-Cha-Cha, Jive and Samba.

Course levels

This course is offered in Q1 and Q3.

During the Introduction course, you will learn the basics of both Ballroom Latin and Ballroom Standard dances in a fun combination. You will dance with a partner, and learn how to lead and to follow. You will learn to recognise the different rhythms, music and dance styles.

This introduction course is perfect for you if you have no experience at all in this type of dancing. In seven lessons you will learn the basics of 4 dances. After completing this course, you can move on to the next level, Beginners.

Please note: it is not possible, if lead is full, to sign up for follower with the expectation of still being able to dance as lead. This creates imbalances in the classes.

This course is offered in every quarter.

During the Beginners course, you will learn new dance steps for the Slow Waltz, Quickstep, Jive and Cha-Cha-Cha. We also focus on improving the execution of the steps you learned in the Introduction course. You will spend time working on your technique, which will help you to master the movements and perform them with ease.

The Beginners course is perfect for you if you have followed the Introduction course at X or have already gained 3-9 months of experience in ballroom dancing elsewhere. The content of the course varies per course, so you can take the course  several times.

Please note: it is not possible, if lead is full, to sign up for follower with the expectation of still being able to dance as lead. This creates imbalances in the classes.
